GPSR Notification List

I live in the EU and now I can't buy your socks. What gives?

So, fun story, the EU recently released something called the GPSR, which is a series of unrealistic and stringent “safety protocols” that all businesses importing into the EU have to follow. Of course, what it really does is give a giant middle finger to small businesses by making it extremely cost prohibitive to import into the EU. In order to sell products in the EU, business now have to have an EU representative for your manufacturing that is either an employee of or contractor for your business, and who lives in the EU. This person basically takes all legal responsibility for your business and helps make sure that you’re “compliant” with all of the new requirements.

These new requirements include an insane amount of “safety testing” as well as serialization of products and a bunch of other things that make it extremely costly for small businesses to accomplish. Of course, these new requirements are a drop in the bucket for big businesses and mass manufacturers, effectively slamming the door on folks like us, even when there was no actual safety concern to begin with.

The EU stated that they would be releasing documentation and assistance programs for small businesses to become GPSR compliant, but as of now they haven’t actually done that. We’re trying to get this figured out, but for the moment we have to suspend all operations into the EU.

TLDR: To get notified of when we’re able to ship to the EU again, sign up below.
